How DID she do it?

I don't think that scheduling an interview was all that hard. I knew that I wanted to do an article about the new Marshall Square Mall gym. So, I went online and got Joseph Lore's number and called the office ad scheduled an interview. I did it as soon as I possibly could so that I had the best chance of getting him right when it was convenient for me.

I tried to chat with him beforehand to get him to warm up to me, because I figured if some random girl came to me and stuck a microphone in my face, i wouldn't be too inviting. I discovered, as I was talking to him, that my story was evolving into something more. The more I talked to him, and the more used to me he became, Joe began to let up some more details about this new gym that SU had going on. I started to get really into what he was saying, and i felt really interested. I think the more excited about it I became, the more excited he became about talking to be about it. It turned out that most of my better sound bites came from the end of the interview.

I think the hardest part was recording the natural sound, because it really is awkward to go up to a girl on a treadmill and basically stick your microphone up her shorts... but that's a completely different story.
