Finding a Story
Originally I wanted to do a post game wrap of the SU men's soccer game on Wednesday night. However, I wasn't able to go to Wednesday afternoons soccer game and had to come up with a new idea. On Thursday morning I was sitting in Schine eating breakfast and still had no clue what i was going to cover. As I was finishing off my french toast I bumped into a friend of mine who used to live on my floor last year. He was sitting with 4 guys who are on the lacrosse team. One of the players mentioned practice and I asked him if they had already begun practising for the season. After he confirmed that they had, I decided that I had a decent story idea and conducted impromptu interviews with two of the players: sophomore goalie Al Cavalieri, and sophomore midfielder Nate Tucker (Tucker is sitting out Fall practice due to an injured shoulder). The interviews went smoothly and I was able to pursue a good angle. The biggest problem I had was finding a natural sound and incorporating it into my story and my lead. But after some help form Prof. Nicholson I was able to complete my story.

Ranbir, I think you did a fine job with your story. It was well-written and interesting to me. I also think that it is amazing that we picked up eight all-americans. How is that possible? I'll care for our LAX team more because of that information.
I really enjoyed your story. As we are well aware, I'm usually not very interested in sports stories, but yours was actually really interesting. You got lucky that you found a story so last minute, but it definitely worked for you, so kudos. Also, I like your accent. I think that helps...
