Thursday Morning Roundtable at Drumlins

The Thursday Morning Round Table at Drumlins hosted the television show Ivory Tower Half Hour. The show features a panelist made of mostly professors from local universities and colleges. Dean David Rubin of the Newhouse School hosts the host. Only three only panelists were available for the Thursday Morning Round Table discussion. Professor Kristi Anderson of the Maxwell school at S.U., Lisa Dolak from the College of Law, and Robert Spitzer, a SUNY Cortland professor were the panelists.
The panel discussed mainly free speech issues ranging from the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's speech at Columbia University to the appointment of Donald Rumsfeld as a distinguished visitor.
Towards the end of the discussion, the panelists talked about several local issues. One being the election of Joanie Mahoney as the Republican candidate for County Executive in Onondaga County. Dolak says she is excited that an insurgent in the Republican party won the nomination of the party and that there is a potential for a female county executive. Her comments received a loud round of applause from the audience.
