Fulton School District Repairs

A $23.7 million capital improvement plan for the Fulton School District is in the hands of district voters after the school board voted Tuesday night to bring the project to a referendum. District voters will decided December 12 whether to approve the plan. The project will address issues like student safety, security, disabled access, and upgrades to the district's athletic facilities. Kathy Nichols, the director of finance for the school district, said she hopes to see a better learning environment for the students if the plan is approved.

"It should help us just provide a better educational environment for the children," Nichols said. "Safer, cleaner and more comfortable with a few enhancements."

Nichols said local taxpayers will probably cover up to three to four percent of the cost, with state aid funding the rest. Details of the project are available on the school district's website.
