Cheater, Cheater, Title Eater

It's unfair to all baseball players in the present and the past that Barry Bonds cheated his way through the game. He took the titles and opportunities away from other, more legitimate players who have not cheated and have the natural ability to win the titles Bonds has won in the past few years. The fact that he's so disliked by the media explains why he recieves so much flack for what he did, and although what he did was unfair, it's also unfair that the media beats him up so much. There are plenty of other players, both in baseball and other sports, that have cheated, so others who are widely known "cheaters" should receive just as much contempt from the public.

I agree that Bonds has recieved a dispropotionate amount of flack from the media, when compared to the media's coverage of other players. However, I think if it wasn't Bonds gaining a 'roids victory, it would be someone else. With the current state of baseball, I don't think that we would have seen a performance enhancing drug free victory. If it wasn't Bonds with the steroids, it would have been some other juiced up cheater. Until something is done about steroid use in Major League baseball, I think that is the best we can expect.

Barry Bonds may have cheated, but he should never be considered any less "legitimate" a baseball player than anyone else. Throughout his career (before AND after his inflation,) Bonds has been among the best if not the best player in all of baseball.

Your article is good.

Undoubtedly there are a lot of cheaters out there, but not everyone made it to the title eater. I think it is unusual and somewhat unreasonable that Bonds is getting all this flack, but it's not unfair. He decidedly chose to cheat his way up, so he should take whatever consequences he deserves.
